Business News New MBA concentrations offered at Concordia-Chicago June 1, 2011—Students in the MBA program at Concordia University Chicago can now choose from eight different concentrations including Not-for-Profit Management, Sports Management, Accounting,Health Care, Leadership and Change Management, School Business Management, Chief School Business Official andBanking and Financial Institutions. Beginning this fall, students can either choose a Comprehensive MBA or choose a concentration, when enrolled in Concordia-Chicago’s two-year MBA program. Students can choose to complete their core MBA classes online or at the university’s River Forest campus. The concentration courses must be completed online. The online option includes the same curriculum offered in the classroom, but enables students to complete assignments when and where it is convenient. School Business Management and Chief School Business Official are unique degree programs designed for chief school business officials and education professionals seeking to advance their careers in modern education administration, whether in the public or private sector. The curriculum encompasses key management skills in areas such as business operations, finance, and planning in the school environment, while addressing the unique duties of a school administrator. It also prepares students for a national certification program in development by the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International. The accounting concentration includes a few more classes than the others. It is designed to prepare students to take the certified public accountants (CPA) examination.
