My name is Dr. Doug Hood. Allow me to share a bit about myself. The 25 years I spent in industry gave me insight on what makes the difference between a successful and non-successful organization. I have consulted for many organizations on such areas as efficiency, effectiveness and cultural changes. I like to touch on many of these subjects in class. I began my career in the food industry. After 25 years of various management positions, I retired at 45. By that time, I had completed my BSBA from NC Wesleyan College and my MBA from Campbell University in North Carolina.
After shortly completing my Ph.D. in Organizational Management from Capella University, I accepted a position with Mount Olive College, now known as the University of Mount Olive. I held various positions there to include ending at Division Chair for Management Systems. I retired from there in September of 2013 to devote my time to writing and spending time with my family. I have 4 sons of which 2 are located in the RTP area. One is a Junior at UNCW majoring in Bio- Chemistry. The last one enters NC State in the fall to major in Bio-Medical Engineering. I have taught classes for Southern New Hampshire University, Pfeiffer University, Strayer University, Campbell University and Montreat College.
I have 4 sons of which 2 are located in the RTP area. One just graduated from UNCW with a Marine Biology degree. The last one is in his 2nd year at NC State and is majoring in Bio-Medical Engineering. My older sons graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and one owns a dealership and the other is Chief Financial Officer for a company called Neomonde.
