New book by Concordia-Chicago faculty members receives SSI Book of the Year Award

Leading with Resolve and Mastery: Competency-Based Strategies for Superintendent Success has received the Book of the Year award for 2018 in the category of Leadership and Education. The award is granted by Success Solutions International, Inc. (SSI). The award is given annually for the best new book that makes a difference in the lives of people everywhere, according to its award reward review panel.

New education policy book co-authored by Concordia-Chicago faculty member wins prestigious award

Getting to Where We Meant to Be: Working Toward the Educational World We Imagine/d has been awarded the American Educational Studies Association (AESA) Critics Choice Book Award for 2018. The book, written by Pamela J. Konkol, professor of foundations and social policy at Concordia-Chicago, and Patricia H. Hinchey, was published by Myers Education Press.

Symposium Explores Strategies for Empowering Individuals with Disabilities

On Saturday, February 9, 2019, Concordia-Chicago will host a symposium titled “Empowering Individuals with Disabilities.” The symposium will explore how special education empowers individuals with disabilities both in Saudi Arabia and the United States. Also, panelists will discuss how the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission (SACM) promotes the training and career development of special education professionals.

Retirement Research Foundation grant will fund strategic planning initiative at Concordia-Chicago’s Center for Gerontology

On November 16, 2018, Concordia-Chicago received a grant award in the amount of $21,082 from the Retirement Research Foundation (RRF). The grant will support the development of a capacity-building strategic plan in the University’s Center for Gerontology.
