On Friday, October 12, 2018, the College of Business’ Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) hosted the Second CUC-HUEB International Symposium. The theme for this year’s program was “Cultivating Human Capital for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.”
Concordia University Chicago (CUC) and Hebei University of Economics and Business (HUEB) have a robust partnership cultivated over six years. HUEB is located in Hebei Province’s capital, Shijiazhuang, China, close to Beijing, and is the leading business university in the Hebei Province.
Attendees at the 2nd CUC-HUEB International Symposium included prestigious members of the Chicagoland business, community, faculty and students from CUC and HUEB, and academic colleagues from other universities. Featured speakers included Mr. Xiaoming Zou, the Commercial Consul from China for Chicago; Mr. Adam He, Chief Financial Officer of WANDA America Investment Holding Co; and Dr. Bill Liu, founder of NaviAsia Advisors. Complete bios for the speakers can be found at CUChicago.edu/CUC-HUEB-Symposium.
“The International Symposia are a natural fruition of our joint research and teaching endeavors,” remarked Dr. Claudia Santin, Dean of the College of Business and Professor of Leadership. “This year’s event builds on the relationships developed so productively at the first Symposium in Shijiazhuang, China in 2016.”
Though unable to attend Dr. Ji Liang gang, President of HUEB, and Dr. Chen Liang, Vice President of HUEB, sent video messages for Symposium attendees. This event was well attended and the feedback from surveys was resoundingly positive.
