Camp Schedule and Activities

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6: Camp Kickoff Event  6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Lecture and Book Signing Reception with Author Elizabeth White

Millions of Americans in their fifties, sixties and beyond haven’t been able to save enough for retirement. Older adults with financial insecurity often pretend to be all right when they’re not, leading to secrecy, shame, and loneliness. Inspirational speaker Elizabeth White, author of Fifty-Five, Unemployed, and Faking Normal, encourages financially vulnerable older adults to have honest conversations. Her thought provoking book assembles expert research and interviews with older adults to develop a toolkit of financial, psychological, and lifestyle strategies for boomers. Don’t miss this inspiring presentation by a thought leader and compassionate advocate for millions of midlifers who relate to the shame and fear she’s named and brought into the open. Ms. White’s talk will be followed by a book signing and reception (books will be available for purchase). This event is free and open to the public.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7:  8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Choose sessions that excite your interest and curiosity, including:

  • Building Resilience: be better prepared, have greater flexibility, make smarter decisions, and keep a cool head!
  • Sport Strategy: learn how to mastermind hockey, football, or basketball team strategy
  • Holiday Jeopardy trivia bingo contest
  • Tai chi and balance workshop
