What is CALLA?

The calla lily was named after the ancient Greek word for beautiful (calla) and has come to be a symbol of rebirth, faithfulness, youth and renewal. At the Center for the Advancement of Lutheran Liberal Arts, or CALLA, we are working toward a rebirth and renewal of the liberal arts tradition in education. The elegant appearance of the calla lily is a reminder of the value that classical education places on the ancient ideals of truth, goodness and beauty.
